There will be a Kids Praise event for 5-11 year olds on Saturday 29th November from 3-5pm at Holy Trinity Church. The event is free, but advance booking is recommended. For more details email Alex Scott or phone the church office on 0116 254 8981.
Laura Clifford - Midwife in Uganda
Thank you to all who have helped with fundraising for my trip. I fly on the 11th September. My Holy Trinity Link person will be Georgina Cross whose details are in the church address book. You can keep track of my progress at http://www.lauraclifford.blogspot.com. If you would like to receive a copy of my news letter please give your email / postal address to Georgina Cross.
Meriel's Thanksgiving Service
Many thanks to those who attended on Tuesday 29th July at Holy Trinity. An MP3 audio recording of the service is now available for download, please contact James Cullen for details.
New Wine 2009 - "Stepping Out"
We are hoping to take a larger group than ever to this summer event, which will be a great opportunity to spend time with God and with each other. This will be held from 2-8 August 2009 in Shepton Mallet. The cost is £115 if booked and paid in full by 30th November 2008. Places can be reserved with a deposit of £15 but final cost increases. There are various reductions for children. We would recommend booking through Dave and Jenny Ridge because if the group is large enough we may be able to get a free place. For further information visit the New Wine website.
Prayer Meeting
There will be a prayer meeting to prepare for the arrival of the new vicar, John McGinley, which will be held from 8:30pm-9:30pm every Sunday in the Small Lounge.
Questions
The next Questions event 'Our Impression' will be held on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th November. Tickets are on sale after the Sunday services and also available via the church office.
An updated MP3 recording of the recent Questions event on ‘Crisis’ is now available on the Audio Downloads page.
ReSource Publications
Roger Morgan has written two new booklets in the ReSource series.
The first booklet, Stay Evangelism, is for Christians - it's all Roger's inimitable stuff on how to make friends and be spiritually useful to them. The blurb is, it's 'written to encourage ordinary Christians to develop a transparent and friendly lifestyle which makes it possible to share their faith unthreateningly and in a servant-hearted way with others'...
The second booklet, Decision, is for those who are thinking of making a step of commitment. He's produced it for the Milford mission he's leading, which has some Leicester people on the team (please do pray for them, they are there from Sept 26th to October 5th). Both booklets are beautifully formatted and illustrated by his editor, Alison. And we are still speaking to each other...
If you'd like a copy, Stay Evangelism costs £3, and Decision is £2 or £10 for a pack of 10. There will also be a supply in the HT church office to save on P&P. Speak to Karen or James for details. They can also be ordered from:
http://www.resource-arm.net/pub.html#booklets.
Room Bookings Calendar
The room bookings calendar is now available online, which shows the current booking status and availability for the main church, church lounge, King's Room, kitchen, Regent Room, Triangle Room, Turner Room & Upper Room. To view the room bookings calendar click here.
Study Guide for Philippians
Bill Goodman has produced a Study Guide for our autumn sermon series on Philippians, which can be downloaded from the Study Notes page.
Triangle Christmas Appeal
We would be really grateful if people could start to collect and fill wrapped shoeboxes for our guests at Triangle. At present we have 45 people regularly attending and would like to give everyone a Christmas present. The contents could include gloves, hat, socks, sweets, note paper, pencils stamps, etc. If you have any questions please contact Richard & Mandy Forrest.
Youth Alpha
